From his death 'til now~ I still haven't done an entry dedicated to him. So here goes~
I'm not the biggest Michael Jackson fan you could ever meet but I can't deny the fact that Michael Jackson had a part in my life. I grew up listening to his music and watching his dance moves together with my parents. I even remember my oldest sister playing up Michael Jackson song everyday during her High School days because she was practicing her dance for the club. Then, back in 1996... I can recall it clearly that everyone is so excited for his concert here. No one in our family saw the concert live since the concert tickets are damn expensive. We only watched the concert from local t.v. broadcast ( i think, 1 month after the concert). I was young so the only clip I remember from the concert was his intro wherein he entered a huge mansion and it was dark and the wind was blowing. I hope my memory won't fail me with that one. As we all grew up and so he is... his image was tainted with malicious stories that he molested kids and all those other freak stuffs that went on after which is really really sad.
I stayed up late awhile ago until 3.30 a.m. here (it is already 2 pm now) just to watch his Memorial @ Staples Center. It it pains me to watch it. To finally say goodbye to a LEGEND, an IDOL that everyone grew up with.
While watching the Memorial, I was also on twitter following everything in case I missed something and one twit from Ryan Seacrest really strucks me "
Was thinking we all have a new appreciation for his music now...its kind of wrong that it takes a death to do that" It was an sad truth there by Mr. Seacrest.
Now, I'm thiinking why is it that only when a person dies... we only see the greatness and beauty in them. Why can't we see their greatness and praise them while they are still with us living here so that they'll be more appreciated. Why can't we do that? Why? Are we just sympathetic now and say all his praises to him? Or are we just going with the flow of what major is feeling right now... sad truth right there.
My personal favorites from the memorial awhile ago:
THESE LAST ONE BRING SO MUCH TEARS IN MY EYES. I THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO KNOWS HIM BEST, IT IS HIS KIDS. IT IS IN THE FAMILY THAT WE CAN SHOW OUR REAL SELF WITHOUT ANY PRETENTIONS. PARIS MICHAELS KATHERINE'S SPEECH IS SHORT BUT I, AS A DAUGHTER OF MY DAD FEEL HER LOVE SO MUCH. I CAN SEE FROM HER THAT REALLY MICHAEL IS THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD (IN HER OWN OPINION). *TEARS*
